Are there any discounts for family members with disabilities, for example Down's Syndrome?

    Hi Giles,
Thanks for joining us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel-you've got a great question. The Walt Disney World Resort does not offer disability-based discounts, however there are things you may take advantage of to make your stay more comfortable and to make your overall experience more enjoyable. These are some tips I've collected for some friends that have siblings and children with not only Down's Syndrome but also things like hearing impairments.

First, you may be interested in obtaining a Disability Access Service (DAS) Card at Guest Services within the first theme park you visit during your stay. This card is intended on being used in conjunction with the FastPass+ system to reduce your wait time for attractions.

If your family member is hearing impaired, there is equipment available at Guest Relations to ensure that everyone can participate during your stay. Note that a deposit may be required for the audio equipment.

You may also be interested in this Guide for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities; while the guide specifically mentions autism spectrum disorders, this can be a huge help if your family member has any sensitivities to loud noises, flashing lights, darkness and several other things that can be upsetting for some of our friends.

Please come back and see us if you have any additional questions!!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
