Is there discounts available for Disney Orlando tickets for honorably discharged veterans with a DD214? My husband is in litigation regarding his service connected disability currently and I'd like to surprise him with a vacation. Thanks!

Hi, Jennifer! Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

In order to qualify for Walt Disney World Resort’s Military Promotional Tickets, you must be an active or retired member of the U.S. Military with a valid Military photo ID. This could be a DD Form 2, DD Form 1173, DD Form 2765 or a DoD Civilian Retiree Card. With a DD Form 214, though, your husband would be eligible to stay at Shades of Green in January or September as a part of its Salute to Our Veterans program.

Shades of Green is a hotel on Walt Disney World Resort that is dedicated to members of the U.S. Military and their families. Shades of Green Guests are eligible for several benefits extended to Guests at official Walt Disney World Resort hotels including Extra Magic Hours and the ability to book FastPass+ experiences up to 60 days in advance of your stay. Shades of Green also has its own ticket office where active and retired U.S. military members can purchase tickets for local attractions including Walt Disney World Resort. I would definitely recommend calling Shades of Green to inquire about availability for the trip with which you’d like to surprise your husband. They can also answer any additional questions you might have about military benefits and discounts at Walt Disney World Resort.

In the meantime, please let us know if there’s anything else we can do to help you plan a magical getaway for you and your husband. We’d be happy to help you with your visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth!
