How do the dinning plans work? Not staying at a resort can I still purchase dinning plans? First time planning trip so any pointers are helpful! Thank you!!!

    Hi Suzy,

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Dining plans are a great way to pay for many of your dining expenses in advance of your trip. Dining plans will give you a set of dining credits that can be redeemed for meals during your trip. Depending on the specific dining plan you choose, you receive a mix of table service meal credits, quick service meal credits and snack credits. You have the flexibility to use your credits as you choose throughout your vacation at the restaurants of your choice.

Unfortunately, dining plans are only available for Guests staying in a Disney resort hotel as the number of meals you receive is based on the number of nights on your hotel reservation. So if you are visiting Walt Disney World Resort as a day Guest and not staying in a Disney resort hotel, you will not be able to add a dining plan to your vacation. However, if you would like to pay for some of your expenses in advance of your trip, Disney Gift Cards are a great way to do that and you can use them to purchase food during your vacation, plus merchandise and other goodies!

Please let us know if you have more questions as you plan your trip! T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
