Are Dinner/Dessert with Fireworks / parade worth reserving to avoid having to stand in line or sit and wait for hours? Will be there Sept 7-14. Is the VIP area a good viewing point? Will have a 15 month old and my husband and her first trip to WDW.

Hi, Katherine! My younger daughter's and my niece's first visits were right at that same age. If there is one thing I encourage my friends to do while on vacation with little ones is to enjoy the little things, as doing too much may overwhelm them. I remember having all of these plans in place for my little one and wiping over half of them off the board by day three. What made her the happiest was just simply running in and out of the water sprayers and finding all the pretty flowers at each theme park. Of course, numerous visits with her favorite Minnie Mouse were required daily!

There are some great options at each theme park to grab a meal or just desserts and enjoy the nighttime spectaculars from a reserved section. I highly recommend Magic Kingdom Park's Fireworks Dessert Party. The Plaza Garden Viewing option may work better for you so your daughter can toddle around the grassy area while waiting on the fireworks. Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will be opening at Disney's Hollywood Studios shortly before your trip, so I do want to encourage you to book a Fantasmic! Dining Package as the park will be quite busy and it can save you a lot of time waiting in line for Fantasmic! I think your daughter will have a blast at Hollywood & Vine if you picked it for the meal location.

I am torn whether to recommend any special offerings to you at Epcot or Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. In my experience, I have easily been able to enjoy their nighttime entertainment without reserved seating. You could make a FastPass+ selection for Rivers of Light if that interested you. To me, having the flexibility of leaving if your little one is tired or overwhelmed ranks above adding on more experiences on most days.

I hope this helps you make pixie-dusted plans! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
