Hi all! We have a dinner reservation @ Teppan Edo. Do all the tables have chefs for dinner show? Or do we have to request specific tables? Do we need to reserve the special table? Thanks!

    Hello, Diana!

My favorite thing about visiting Epcot is having the opportunity to learn something about cultures around the world. One way to do that is through the many authentic dining experiences you can enjoy.

Teppan Edo, located in the Japan pavilion at Epcot, is a communal, Teppan-yaki style of cooking, where a skilled chef prepares your meal on the grills directly in front of your table. All of the tables at Teppan Edo are what you may know as a hibachi style, so if you are dining at the restaurant, you will definitely be seated at one of the tables that has a chef.

I'm not sure I would necessarily call this a dinner show, as it is more of an opportunity for these incredible chefs to show off their skills. You may see knife skills or tricks where they toss and catch a piece of food, but even if it's not an all out "show," it's still really entertaining.

Just a reminder, if your party does not have eight guests, you may be seated with other guests at the same grill. I think some guests like to know that going in.

Did you know that in Japan, it is considered good form to compliment a chef with the words oishii (which means, "It's good!"), or, after your first bite, umai! That means you think the food is delicious.

Have a wonderful meal at Teppan Edo, Diana!
