How does the dining plan work? I have never purchased the dining plan and will be going in September with 5 other people and we have the dining plan. We are staying at Animation Court. I think its walk up service eating options but not sure. Thanks.

Hi, Kim!  The way the Dining Plan works depends on which dining plan you have.  I'll give you the run down on the basic Disney Dining Plan, although you might have the Quick Service Plan or even a Deluxe Plan, so we would have to adjust from there.

The basic dining plan provides you with one quick service (counter or walk up dining) meal, one table service (which includes buffets and dinner shows) meal, and one snack per day for each person on the plan.  The credits are based on the number of nights you are staying at a Walt Disney World resort, so if you plan to stay five nights, you will have five of each of these credits.  They are good through midnight on the last day of your stay, so even if you check out, but go to the parks or visit a resort on the day of check out, you'll be able to use dining credits.

You will also get a refillable mug, which is good at your resort for unlimited refills of certain beverages.  This is great if you plan to hang out by the pool or relax at your resort.

Each participating restaurant is usually one credit per meal, however, some signature dining experiences will cost two credits.  These include places like Cinderella's Royal Table, Le Cellier, and Citricos.

Your quick service credit will get you an entree, non-alcoholic beverage, and at lunch and dinner, a dessert.  A table service credit will get you an entree, non-alcoholic beverage, dessert, or a full buffet meal.  You'll be asked when you arrive if you are on the dining plan, and they will guide you from there.

    Hope this helps!
