    Mark from Northamptonshire Asked

I am on the dining plan, can tips be charged without my consent? Am I compelled to tip?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Mark! Thank you for bringing us your question about tipping at Walt Disney World

Tipping or adding a gratuity to your payment for a table service meal is expected, just like it is at any restaurant. When finished eating your meal, your server will bring the check to your table, and on the voucher you will see the suggested amount to tip. It will require your approval, meaning  your signature will be needed. For parties of six or more, an automatic 18% gratuity charge will be added to your bill. Also, it's important to point out that certain dining experiences such as the Hoop-De-Doo Musical Revue and Cinderella's Royal Table, already include gratuity.

Mark, I hope this helps with your planning, and remember, we will be here to answer any other questions you may have.

    See ya real soon,
    ~Desiree

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
