Since the dining plan comes with a refillable mug, can't I use that for drinks and get a "snack" in place of the "drink" part of the quick service meal?

Thanks for bringing your question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Magan!

One of the biggest benefits of any of the Walt Disney World Resort Dining Plans is the refillable Resort mug--especially if you enjoy coffee, tea and/or soda. Keep in mind, though, that the refillable mug only works at self-service beverage centers at each Walt Disney World Resort hotel. So if you’re dining at a Quick-Service location at a Resort hotel, you can certainly use your mug for your drink and let the cashier know you’d like to use a Dining Plan designated snack in its place. If you’re dining at a Quick-Service location inside one of the Theme ParksWater Parks or at select Disney Springs locations though, you will not have the option for complimentary refills.

Many locations offer milkshakes, smoothies and hot chocolate as well, and these count as beverages on each of the Disney Dining Plans. (My daughter will often drink water with her meal and order a milkshake or smoothie as her "dessert"--it’s a great way to get the most out of the Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan.)

Should you have any questions about whether or not a substitution is permitted at a particular location, just ask one of the Cast Members working there; they’d be more than happy to help.

Please let us know if there are any other questions we can answer for you, Magan. Have a magical day!
