When dining on a dining plan in Disney World, can tips be charged to a Disney gift card?

    Hi Olivia!

I am a huge fan of the Disney Dining Plan and add it all of my Walt Disney World vacations when I can.  I am also a huge fan of using Disney Gift Cards while on vacation because I save them throughout the year when I receive them as gifts.

To answer your question, YES!  You can certainly use your Disney Gift Card to pay for gratuities for your Table-Service meals when using the Disney Dining Plan.  There are two ways you can do this: pay with the gift card at the restaurant or charge the gratuity to your room account and then pay off your charges with the gift card at the front desk at the end of your vacation.  I like to charge everything to my room so I can see an itemized list of my charges and then pay it all in one shot at the end with my gift card, but either way you'd like to do it is perfectly fine.

If you have multiple Disney Gift Cards, head over to the Disney Gift Card website and register one of them.  You can then transfer the rest of your gift cards, up to $1000 on any one card, so you don't have to carry a bunch with you on your vacation.  This is also a great idea in case you lose your gift card.  You can simply transfer your registered card to another card without worrying about losing the balance.  You can also easily check the balance of your card(s) at any time.
