What is the difference between the value, moderate, and deluxe resorts? Which are the "better quality" resorts? Thanks so much for helping me plan my WDW vacation! :)

    Hi Dana!

Probably the number 1 difference between a Value, Moderate, and Deluxe resort is cost. Value is the least expensive, and would probably be considered the economical deal. Moderate is your mid-level expense, a little extra money but not the splurge. And deluxe is your top dollar, both in expense and amenities. I generally say add about 20-30% extra as you go up each resort class.

You'll find that each comes with its own level of offerings. For example, Value resorts normally only offer food courts but no table service restaurants. Value will also have pools, but, say, no water slides. The rooms are also the smallest on Disney property.

Moderate rooms are larger than Value rooms, have extra room view options (pool or garden views), the pools have water slides or maybe a beach, extra food places, etc.

Deluxe comes with the best room space and premium views (i.e. Theme Park view at the Contemporary resort), have multiple places to eat, swim, and shop, and some have day car activity centers as well as other amenities.

For each resort class, our family favorites would be:

Value: Pop Century and the new Art of Animation resort
    Moderate: Coronado Springs
Deluxe: Contemporary, Animal Kingdom, and Grand Floridian

Hope this helps! Have a Fantasmic Time planning!
