    Eric Asked

What is the difference between full hook-up, preferred and premium camp sites?

Hi Eric! It can get a bit confusing when trying to decide what kind of site you need when traveling in a camper, bus, or tent to Walt Disney World's Fort Wilderness. There are actually four designations so I will try to simply explain what they are.

Premium Sites: These are considered the "big rig" locations where the pads are generally larger (24'x60'), level, and completely paved. The pads were built to accommodate the RV's that have multiple slides and up to 45' long. These sites include water, power, sewer, cable, and access to the high speed internet. They also have upgraded picnic tables (heavier) and grills and are in what Disney considers prime loop locations.
There are 11 of these sites to choose from.

Preferred Sites: There are three loops in this category, 100,200, 300. The amenities are the same as above but the sites are smaller. The preferred designation is given due to their close proximity of the Settlement Trading Post, Pioneer Hall, and the Meadows and Marina areas.

Full Hook-up Sites: The four loops in this category are 1600, 1700, 1800, and 1900. These sites now also have cable and internet capability but will remain under this name due to their location. They are the farthest loops from most of the activities such as Trading Posts, pools, and dining. However, many guests will not book anything except these loops as they love the peacefulness and quiet they bring. The pads are shorter and most big rigs would have one end off the pavement.

Partial Hook-up Sites: There are two of these loops, 1500 and 2000 that remain without cable and at this time only tents and small pop up campers are allowed.

Hope these explanations can help you choose the right loop for your visit. Be sure and let them know the type of vehicle you will be bringing down when you make your reservation so they assign you a site that you can manage!
