I have a diabetic child, is there any special passes I can get?

    Hi Kathleen,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this question to us!

I would first suggest that you review the services for guests with disabilities guide. There are a number of helpful resources there that will assist you with planning your visit. Since your child is diabetic, I would also suggest that you familiarize yourself with the First Aid stations at each theme park. My husband is diabetic and has, thankfully, never had a problem while we were on vacation. Also, take a look at the special dietary requests information and be sure to make note of your child's dietary needs when making dining reservations. We have food allergies in our family. At each restaurant, cast members who serve us talk to us about those allergies before the meal.

The Walt Disney World Resort also offers Disability Access Service for guests who cannot tolerate long lines. My husband uses this service because he has a degenerative condition in his hip and has significant difficulty walking or standing for long periods of time. If your child cannot tolerate long lines, stop by guest services to inquire about the Disability Access Service. Essentially, it allows you to request a return time for certain rides and attractions. The last time we visited in July, up to five guests could ride with the person who had the Disability Access Service. Although I could get the return time for the family, my husband had to be the first person to check-in for the ride when we returned. We could not ride without him.

Kathleen, I hope this has addressed your question!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
