On our departure day, are we able to still visit one of the parks/ book character dining? Checkout of our resort room is 11 am but our flight is not until suppertime. Does the airport shuttle take care of the bags the same way as they do upon arrival?

    Hi Amy!

Our family always tries to book afternoon/evening flights so we can enjoy as much park time as possible. The day before your departure, you can will receive a Transportation Notice on the door of your hotel room notifying you of your departure time on Disney's Magical Express. You can expect this to be approximately 3 hours prior to your flight for domestic travel and approximately 4 hours prior to your flight for international travel. You can plan on enjoying the parks and dining prior to that. I would recommend an early character breakfast followed by a nice morning and early afternoon in the parks.

For your luggage, if you are flying on a participating airline, you can take advantage of Resort Airline Check-In. I was able to participate in this program a few weeks ago and first thing in the morning on my departure day, I was able to check-in to my flight, receive my boarding pass, check my bags and then enjoy my final day at Magic Kingdom. At that point, I said goodbye to my bags and they met me at my destination airport. If you not flying one of the participating airlines, you will be responsible for bringing your bags to Disney's Magical Express pickup point and your bags will ride with you to the airport. At the airport, you will check your bags in at the airline check-in counter. You can still enjoy the day in the parks if you check your bags with Bell Services after you check-out of your hotel room. They can hold them for you until you are ready to leave on Disney's Magical Express!
