We are departing out of Orlando airport at 6:00pm and have lunch reservations for 1:00 in the Animal Kingdom. Will this work? How long before your flight does the Magical Express usually depart from the hotel? We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Hello Paula and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
When it comes to a Disney Parks vacation, I know I want to enjoy it up until the very last second. In fact, my family refers to Disney's complimentary transportation to and from the airport as the Magical Express when we arrive and the "Tragical Express" when we depart!.  Typically, you will be scheduled to board the return trip to the airport at least three hours before your flights departure time.  So, in your case, that will be right around 3:00 p.m.  As long as there are no delays at lunch or in catching a bus back to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge your plan should be do-able. However, it might be cutting it close. If you have carry-on luggage that you will have to pick up at bell services, that can take a bit of time, so make sure and factor that it.  If worse comes to worse, you can always catch a cab to the airport. I have been known to fork out the money for a cab just to enjoy the magic a little bit longer.

    See ya real soon!
