What are the definitions of the different levels of activity for port adventures?

Ahoy, Kara and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm also casting off on a Disney Cruise in April so I've been on the Disney Cruise Line website researching Port Adventure options for my crew. As I plan, I make sure to read the descriptions carefully and pay close attention to the "Know Before You Go" section before I make any final decisions. The duration of the activity is something I always have to consider because the sailors in my family only like to be off the ship for a few hours at a time.  I don't like to encounter any surprises when we head ashore so checking out the activity level is also important during my planning process. I've included a brief description below to help you as you consider options for your crew.

Active adventures are best suited for those in good physical health because long periods of walking could be involved, and participants may encounter steps, inclines, or uneven terrain. Continuous effort is needed to fully participate in these types of Port Adventures.

Moderate excursions are designed for Guests who are relatively active and can withstand periods of walking over various types of surfaces (even and uneven). If water is involved, Guests will need to be able to tolerate a small current and move up and down a latter.

An adventure with a mild activity level will involve shorter walking distances on terrain that is mainly flat. Standing and sitting may be required to experience the excursion and getting on a tour vehicle with a ramp or steps be needed.

I hope these descriptions help with your planning, Kara. Please write back if we can assist you further.

    Have a magical day!
