    What are dedicated points?

    Hi there, Julie!

I have been a Disney Vacation Club member for 14 years, and I had never heard of the term dedicated points in reference to DVC itself. I reached out to the very helpful cast members at DVC member services, and they had also never heard of the term. So we came up with a couple of things it might be.

Member services suggested you may be referring to the allotted points - which is the number of vacation points that you receive at the start of each use year. Your allotted points are the number of points you have in your contract.

My guess was that you might be referring to points that are already dedicated for a specific vacation. For example, if I have used my points to book a week in December, those points are already dedicated to that specific trip, and they aren't available for me to use for another vacation. I have seen this term used on a few DVC member websites to refer to vacation points they already ear marked for a specific time.

If both DVC member services and I are both missing the mark, come on back and let me know. I'll keep asking until I find the answer to your question.

    Thank you, Julie!
