Were going on december 4 to WDW with our 4 and 6 yea old kids, will probably spend most time on MK and Epcot, would you recommend WL, AKL (bunk bed garden view) or contemporary (tower lake view)?

    Hi Christian:

While my family really enjoys Animal Kingdom Lodge, and we'll be staying there on our next trip, I would take that Resort off of your list for this upcoming vacation.  Since you will be traveling with relatively young children and plan to spend most of your Park time at Magic Kingdom or Epcot, I would stay at a Resort closer to those Parks, such as Wilderness Lodge or Contemporary Resort, so you can spend more of your time enjoying attractions, and less of your time in transport.  Also, since you are not considering a savannah view, the Animal Kingdom Lodge may not be as interesting as staying at a Resort closer to the Parks of your choice.

It's a close call between Wilderness Lodge and Contemporary Resort.  In my opinion, Wilderness Lodge has better theming than Contemporary Resort.  However, with a lake view at Contemporary, you'll likely be able to enjoy viewing the Electrical Water Pageant  every night (barring severe weather) right outside your window.  Also, both Resorts have convenient transportation options to Magic Kingdom and Epcot (walk or monorail from Contemporary and boatride or monorail from Wilderness Lodge). It's a tough call.  If after you do more research you are 50/50 on the Resorts, I would slightly lean towards the Contemporary since the monorail runs right through the Resort.  I'll never forget the wonder I felt as a five year old staying at Contemporary and hoping on the monorail right inside the Resort.

    Enjoy your vacation.
