I am debating between the Enchanted 10k and Expedition Everest Challenge in 2015 as my first runDisney event. I have read that there will be no EEC in 2015. Do you know if they will be holding an EEC? When is this normally confirmed? Thanks!

    Hi, Amanda!

Thank you so much for your patience in my reply! I love hearing from guests ready to write their runDisney fairytales. You won't be disappointed in your decision to begin this journey.

I can confirm there will be an Expedition Everest Challenge for 2015! Though details for next year's event have not yet been released, dates are currently scheduled for May 1-2, 2015.

You can't go wrong by selecting either the Enchanted 10k or the Expedition Everest Challenge, they both make great first time runDisney experiences.

Here's a fun little quiz of questions to help you decide:

    1. Are you an....
    A. Early Bird
    B. Night Owl

    2. Which attraction do you prefer...
    A. Under the Sea ~Journey of the Little Mermaid
    B. Kilimanjaro Safaris®

    3. Do you prefer....
    A. Winter
    B. Spring

    4. Do you prefer....
    A. Tutus & Tiaras
    B. Wild & Wonderful

    5. What sounds more fun?
    A. 6.2 miles of running an amazing course that includes Epcot's World Showcase Promenade
    B. A 3.1 mile physical challenge coupled with a mental challenge and after-party

If you answered mostly A's, go for the royal and regal Enchanted 10k. Just remember, registration opens at Noon EST on Tuesday, July 15th and will sell-out fast! If you answered mostly B's, head to Base Camp and go with the Expedition Everest Challenge.

I hope this take on deciding on your first race helps, Amanda! Please do not hesitate to ask any questions you may have. I'd also love to know which race event you choose!

    Happy Running!
