    Lori from ME Asked

I am debating about bringing my "good" camera vs. my "o.k." camera and the video camera. Is it worth lugging around the larger equipment? I want great memories but I want to be able to enjoy the attractions without dragging too much

    Lori,

I completely understand your concern!  I have a DSLR and a point and shoot, and we usually take both.  I take the point and shoot with me every day, every where.  The SLR I do not, and I use it very selectively.  There are a few places I know I want 'good' pictures, and I use it heavily around the resort we stay at, as well.  That way I can get a few high quality pictures, without having to lug a large camera (and lenses!) around the park all day.  It's also nice to do this on a day when you will be returning to the resort for a break, so you don't have to carry it for the entire day.

As for the video camera...I always take it, and I very rarely use it.  There's just so much going on, and we're always too busy having the fun to remember to record the fun.  I have a very small video camera that fits in the palm of my hand, so I do continue to take it.  Anything larger than a point and shoot camera, and I personally would skip it.  As you said, just one more thing to carry.

    Hope that helps!
