Dear panel, i've been taking notes on calmer quieter places in the parks for relaxation or nap time for the kids ( like tom sayers island at MK). Do you have suggestions for Epcot and hollywood studios? And maybe suggest a "café" like place

    Hello Melissa!

As the mother of four, my kids have napped all over Walt Disney World. You are a very smart mama to be planning in advance for some kid rest time.

At Epcot, take a ride on the Monorail. The loop from Epcot to the Magic Kingdom takes a bit of time, and the quiet rocking motion might be just the ticket to lull a little one (or even an adult) into a vacation snooze. You can remain on the Monorail for as long as you like, so there is no need to get off if someone is still napping. While I  am personally a huge fan of The American Adventure stage show in the American Pavilion, my husband and kids have been known to use the 40 minute show to examine the back of their eyelids.

Consider a ride on the Friendship Boats between Epcot and Hollywood Studios. You can board the boat just outside the International Gateway between Great Britain and France from Epcot, or just outside the exit at Disney's Hollywood Studios. A complete round trip is approximately 40 minutes, and this is a calm place to have some downtime. Inside Hollywood Studios, my kids always enjoy a visit to the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground. While it may not be quiet and restful, it is a good place for kids to have some freedom and the ability to run around and burn off some energy.

For a familiar cup of joe, you can find Starbucks at all four theme parks. But for a quieter coffee house type atmosphere, visit The Writer’s Stop at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Located near the exit of Star Tours, this little out of the way shop sells books, cookery, coffee and one of my favorites, the famous Carrot Cake Cookie. I hope some of these suggestions will work for you and your family, Melissa. Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

    Wishing you a nap-tastic vacation!
