Dear Andi, I am taking my family (husband, son (age 4), son (age 1) on the Disney cruise on 12/10/11. What would you recommend doing for excursions when we arrive on the islands? We are doing the 7 night Carribean cruise. Any tips? Sincerely

    Hi, Collette!

That's so exciting that your Western Caribbean cruise aboard the Disney Magic is very close -- I think that itinerary is a wonderful mix of ports of call with Port Adventures which are unique to those varied destinations.  I've outlined your itinerary below with some links to shore excursions designed for young families which will give you a taste of adventure in each port:

1 Port Canaveral 4 p.m. -- Flying in early? Play at Walt Disney World.

2 Key West 12:30-7:30 p.m. -- All aboard to see the sights! Old Town Trolley or Conch Train Tour

3 At Sea -- Consult your Personal Navigator for fun on the ship!

4 Grand Cayman 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. -- Gaze amongst sea life without getting wet on the Nautilus Undersea Tour.

5 Cozumel, Mexico 9:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. -- Consider a unique experience like Cozumel Ruins and Beach Tour

6 At Sea -- Look out for characters, entertainment and special events for the whole family or book spa experiences or brunch/dinner at Palo for the adults.

7 Castaway Cay 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. -- Take it easy at Castaway Cay!

8 Port Canaveral 7:30 a.m. -- Ease back into reality at Walt Disney World before you leave for home.

Have a wonderful day and a magical vacation. Bon voyage!
