    Bob Asked

Dear Allison, Thank you for the answer to my last question. That helped us a lot. We have an adult friend. He can walk, but does need to use a wheelchair some. Can we rent wheelchairs in the Magic Kingdom and Epcot? Thank you

    Welcome Back Bob!

It is my pleasure to assist you again!  You are an awesome friend to plan ahead for your friend and make this an easier trip for him.  The parks are big so your friend will likely find a wheelchair very helpful.

Wheelchairs are available for rent in all 4 of the Disney Theme Parks as well as Downtown Disney.  At the Magic Kingdom, they are available near the Main Street U.S.A. Train Station. Head towards the right after you go through the turnstiles.  There are two rental locations at Epcot: one near the Main Entrance (to the left of Space Ship Earth) and one at the International Gateway Entrance.

If your friend will be renting a wheelchair for more than one day, he can save a little money by purchasing a Length of Stay rental ticket. On the first day he rents a wheelchair, he can purchase a Length of Stay rental ticket for the number of days he'll need a wheelchair. After that, he can simply show his Length of Stay rental ticket and he'll be on his way.  Saves a little money and a little time.

Wheelchairs cannot be removed from the theme park in which they were rented. If he visits more than one park per day, he'll have to return his wheelchair to the rental location before going to the next park. He'll need to present his rental receipt at the next theme park to get another wheelchair, if available.  He won't be charged again if he rents on the same day.

Some attractions can accommodate Guests in wheelchairs while others may require Guests to transfer from their wheelchairs to experience.  These will be noted next to each attraction on your Guide Map.

Thanks so much for visiting again. I am honored to assist you make this a smooth trip for your friend. Wishing you minnie magical memories :-)  Allison
