Dealing with menu restrictions! Dairy-free, egg free, sugar free plus gluten and grain free! Where can we eat?Basically, meat, fruit & veggies. Also, can we bring in our own food to supplement our poor kid?

    Hiya, Deb!

Thanks for bringing up such an important question. A number of my friends adhere to special diets, including gluten-free, added sugar-free, and more. They have all reported to me that the Disneyland Resort is among the best places for accommodating special dietary needs. It's very important to the Disneyland Resort that guests have a variety of delicious and healthy dining options. Due to the large volume of meals served at the Disneyland Resort, vendors and suppliers frequently substitute products, update menu items and change preparation methods. Therefore, to receive the most current information, it is important to speak to a Cast Member when you arrive at each location.

When making reservations at table service restaurants, be sure to note special dietary needs, including food allergies. The online reservation system allows you to indicate restrictions from corn, wheat/gluten, milk, egg, peanut, fish, shellfish, soy, tree nut, and "other" ingredients. When you arrive at a restaurant, you may ask to speak with the chef or restaurant manager about any specific questions you may have. This is particularly useful at Character Dining experiences and other buffets so that appropriate items can be pointed out or even prepared specially in the kitchen. Many Quick Service restaurants have allergy-friendly menus online and in the Disneyland app. You may also email the Disneyland Resort Special Diets team with any specific question or concern.

As for bringing your own food, you betcha! Outside food and drink are allowed in the parks of the Disneyland Resort. There are some prohibited items to avoid, including alcohol, large coolers, and glass, except small jars such as for baby food. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring in what you feel you need to keep your Mouseketeer rolling throughout the day.

Have a deliciously magical time, Deb!
