How does DDP work at California Grill with the new changes? I have never been and would love to surprise the family. Is appetizer included? Or is it just entree, beverage, and dessert? Thanks!! Hurry up March 2018!!!

    Hi Michelle:

What a wonderful surprise you have planned for the family! California Grill is my family's favorite Fine/Signature Dining restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort.

If you have purchased the Disney Deluxe Dining Plan, then your Table-Service lunch or dinner meal entitlement includes an appetizer, an entrée, a dessert and either a non-alcoholic beverage or an alcoholic beverage for Guests 21 and older (2018 plan only). If you opted for the Disney Dining Plan instead, then your meal inclusions will not have the appetizer. You may certainly ask at the restaurant about potential substitutions, but these are never guaranteed. Therefore, come prepared to pay out-of-pocket for any appetizers you may be ordering there.

Please keep in mind that dining at California Grill requires the use of two (2) Table-Service meal credits for each person. All meal credits can be redeemed from your meal plan balance in any fashion, until they are depleted. Do be sure to make dining reservations 180 days in advance of your check-in date, as California Grill is a very popular Disney restaurant.

Disney Mom Tip: Depending on the time of your reservation, you may be able to enjoy Happily Ever After from California Grill. The lights are dimmed and the music from the show is piped into the restaurant. If your reservation is earlier in the day, you may return to the lounge or observation deck by showing your receipt at the check-in desk for reentry.

    Bon Appétit!
