DDP vs.paying for food on our own. I can stay at Wyndham Bonnet Creek 2 bdrm condo outside of WDW for only $40 per night (my bro works there)-$200 total. Should I switch and stay at WDW resort with DDP or stay at condo buy our food? There's only 2 of us

    Hi Chrissy!

To stay on site, or not to stay on site! That is the question!

There are so many factors that make this question really difficult to answer!

When considering a cost difference, it sounds like you're got a steal of a deal staying at Wyndham Bonnet Creek!

A few things you may want to consider about staying on/off site:

    • Will you need to rent a car if you stay off-site? Usually when staying at a resort that is not on Disney property, I plan on a rental car. Depending on if you'll want a rental car too, you might want to add that cost into your planning.
    • If you won't be renting a car, you'll want to consider the cost of airport transfers. With Disney Resorts, you'll have the option of (the free) Magical Express service to travel to and from the airport.
    • Disney Dining Plan - while this is a little hard to quantify in terms of money, it is a great plan for on-site guests to take advantage of! If you like to dine (and who doesn't!) then take advantage of it!
    • Parking at Walt Disney World! Don't forget to factor in parking costs each day at the parks! It may add up quickly!
    • And, last, but not least - Extra Magic Hours! This is impossible to quantify in terms of money, but it is an on-site benefit that I NEVER miss out on! Our family loves to have the extra hours in the parks!
Hope this gives you an idea of somethings to consider when you make your decision!
