My DD is turning 3 and we are taking her to WDW for her bday and 1st trip. Any ideas to break the news? She knows what WDW is because we have talked about it a lot and watched the vacay planning DVD. Any other ideas to make her bday special? Thanks!

    Hi Livia,

What an exciting surprise you have planned!  There are many ways you could break the news of your trip to your daughter.  I suggest you consider getting a mylar balloon and packing it into a big, beautifully wrapped box.  Tie a small note from Mickey Mouse to the bottom of the balloon.  Then, when your daughter opens the box (preferably in a room with a low ceiling), the balloon will float out and she'll see Mickey's invitation to come visit him.  I bet she'll be delighted!  You might also want to put a special pen and autograph book in the box.  Tell her the Disney characters will sign her book when they meet her in Florida.

When you arrive at Walt Disney World, be sure to stop by a Guest Services desk in the first theme park you visit.  Let them know about your daughter's big celebration.  They will give her a free birthday button.  As she wears it throughout the parks, Cast Members will go out of their way to wish her a happy birthday.  Who knows what other special pixie dust awaits the birthday girl?!

Wishing you a birthday trip filled with magical memories!
