My DD (4) will be seeing the World Showcase for her first time in Feb 2013. She will recognize some famous world landmarks and historical sites like Big Ben, but we would like to teach her about others she will see at Epcot. Can you provide us with a list?

    Hi Mollie!

I just love that Epcot can be educational for children and that your daughter is interested in learning about the countries.  Here is a basic list of the landmarks she will find in the World Showcase at Epcot starting from left to right:

Mexico: Aztec Pyramid with a marketplace featuring authentic Mexican goods
    Norway: Norwegian architecture and village
China: Temple of Heaven, Tomb of China's first emperor, Chinese gardens (beautiful!)
Germany: modeled after a 16th century German town, Bavarian Clock Tower, Statue of St. George and characters from Snow White appear here
Italy: (Where my husband and I were married) Neptune Fountain, Campanile of St. Marks Square (bell tower), gondolas
    American Adventure: Colonial style structures
Japan: red torri gate, rock gardens, gorgeous landscapes, the taiko drummers
Morocco: typical Moroccan architecture, Fez house, belly dancing
France: Eiffel Tower, typical French marketplace
United Kingdom: English village with cobblestone streets and British architecture, Pub (yummy desserts), British phone booths
Canada: Canadian Rockies with waterfalls, totem poles

Each pavilion offers a wealth of culture for adults and children.  Have your daughter participate in the Kidcot Fun Stops at each country and create a fun craft to take home.  You can also purchase a Passport kit, where each country will stamp the passport and write your daughter's name in the native language.  My son, also 4, LOVED doing this.

    Have a magical day!
