Mom And Daughter Resort Room

Hi, My DD 6 has diabetes and uses an insulin pump. We are pretty good at figuring out carb counts on most foods, but I'm concerned about the desserts. Is there any resource that will help us with carbs so that we don't miss out on the great Disney treats?

Hmmm.  Unfortunately I'm not aware of any resource that details nutritonal information for the menu items at WDW.  Here are some helpful hints though, for making the most of your dining experience.

    -  When you call to schedule your dining reservations, be sure to inform the Cast Member who takes your reservation of your daughter's dietary needs.  He or she will make a note of it in your reservation which will be passed on to the chefs at the restaurants you plan to visit.

    - For the table service restaurants you plan to visit, be sure to reiterate your situation to the Cast Member who greets you at the podium.  They will gladly let you speak with the chef who can probably offer some assistance in that department.  I've dined with guests who have food allergies and I'm always impressed with the level of attention that the chefs give to ensure that all is well.

You might also visit allears.net.  If you click on the dining tab you will find not only menus for all of the restaurants, but also a "Special Dietary Needs" section that gives some suggestions for sugar-free desserts all around WDW.

    Hope that helps!
