Hi Moms. 122 days till our 1st cruise! Q about snorkeling at CC. If we rent, can we use them in the morning, turn them in, then use them again, or do we have to keep them with us all day once we rent. Don't want to incur any addl fees. Could bring r own.

    Ahoy, Stacey!

Congratulations on the countdown to your first cruise!  You are nearly into the DOUBLE DIGITS, yippee!

The 22-acre Snorkel Lagoon off of the Castaway Family beach is wonderful. There are some fabulous underwater surprises to be found. I would recommend looking for these things early in the day, as the water tends to cloud up throughout the day from passengers kicking up sand in the swimming area.

Also, the swim out to the lagoon is pretty far, so be sure that all of your snorkelers are strong swimmers. With your equipment rental, you will receive a bright neon yellow inflatable vest.

Since your Snorkel Lagoon Equipment Rental includes your equipment for the entire day, I believe you can return and check out equipment as you like. There are two rental areas, Gils' Fins and Boats & Flippers n Floats, located on Castaway Cay.

We have brought our own snorkel equipment in the past. This is very heavy and cumbersome, and you definitely need flippers in order to reach the Snorkel Lagoon. If you have the luggage space and want to save some money, this is definitely an option. You can get the inflatable vests for free at both of the equipment rental areas as well.

I hope you have a MAGICal first cruise! Please visit us again with any more questions before you set sail.

    Happy Sailing, Tracy V.
