Hi it's 131 days till we arrive from the UK and my question is does the centre come out of the Magic Bands on the newer ones or do you still have to use them on your wrist. Looking forward to coming. Jenny

    Hi Jennifer!

Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The countdown is on for your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation and I am so happy to help you plan your trip! MagicBands are such a fantastic addition to your vacation because they add so much convenience to your trip. It's so nice to have access to your theme park tickets, FastPass+ reservations and Memory Maker account with just the touch of your MagicBand. Plus, since it sounds like you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you will be able to use your MagicBands as your hotel room key and to make purchases to be charged to your hotel reservation account.

The current MagicBands that you will receive with your Disney Resort hotel reservation or that you can purchase for your trip are the MagicBand 2 style. This means that you can remove the center icon of the MagicBand if you don't want to wear it on your wrist. I recommend that you invest in MagicKeepers to hold your removable icon, which will allow you to clip your MagicBand on your belt, purse, keys or lanyard. You can find MagicKeepers in the shops around Walt Disney World Resort and they are sold with the tool you need to remove the icon from your MagicBand and to install it in your MagicKeeper. Once it's all installed, then you are all set to touch your icon to the Mickey touch points throughout Walt Disney World Resort to unlock the magic!

Please let us know if you have additional questions as you continue to countdown sleeps until your vacation. T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
