Hi!! 40 days til we get there! My friends and I are planning on attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party but I was wondering if the hotels will be decorated during the week of November 13-18th? Also are there any other must sees during the holidays?

    Hi, Kristin!

There is simply no better place than Disney to experience the magic of the holiday season.

The brilliantly talented "elves" in the Kingdom usually begin the decorating process around November 1 of each year.  Every night, more elements are added, and the final rollout of the Magic Kingdom's holiday finery is unveiled for the first night of Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, which, this year, falls on November 8.

By the day after Thanksgiving, all of the Parks and Resorts are completely decorated, and the tinsel doesn't come down until January 3.

As for other must-sees? Make sure you visit the Grand Floridian Resort lobby for the life-sized gingerbread cottage. Every bit of that structure is made up of some delicious treat, and confectionery experts hold forth inside, selling gingerbread, candies, and other sweets to Guests.

The Beach Club Resort boasts its own gingerbread carousel, located inside its lobby. And it really works! The little details on the carousel make it even more breathtaking than at first glance; make sure to being a zoom lens for your camera.

The Boardwalk Resort offers Guests a glimpse at a gingerbread gazebo, while the Polynesian Resort treats Guests to a gingerbread workshop.

Every Resort offers uniquely themed decor, perfectly suited to the individual Resort atmosphere. The Parks, too, are rich in decorations that complement the flavor of the area. And for an extra bit of cultural fun, drop by World Showcase at Epcot, where each pavilion is "done up" to reflect that country's celebration of Christmas.

You're sure to have a wonderful time soaking up the sights and sounds of the holiday at Disney!

    See you later, celebrator!
