On days when the park opens officially at 9:00, can you get in early

    Hi Marcia,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian!

The answer to your question is… sometimes! If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you’ll be able to enjoy Extra Magic Hours, which allow you up to an extra hour in the morning to play in one of Walt Disney World Resort’s Theme Parks. Plus, if your visit is going to be taking place this Fall, there will be even more early-morning fun with the “Extra” Extra Magic Hours to celebrate the arrival of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge!

If you aren’t eligible for these perks, there are still plenty of other ways to get a jump start on your Disney Day. For example, there are several Theme Parks that offer “Early Morning Magic” packages, including Early Morning Magic - Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom Park and Disney Early Morning Magic - Toy Story Land at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Please note that these events require separate admission, in addition to a valid Theme Park Ticket.

Finally, even if you don’t choose to attend Extra Magic Hours or Early Morning Magic, some Theme Parks do allow Guests to enter a few minutes earlier than the posted opening time. Based on my experience, this is usually no more than 20 or so minutes before the Park was scheduled to open. This is why it’s a really great touring strategy to arrive no later than 45 minutes prior to the posted opening time (ideally, an hour or more if you want to experience Avatar Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom without a FastPass+ selection).

I hope my answer helps you plan the perfect day at Walt Disney World Resort. Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
