Hi. I have about 45 days left on my Silver annual pass considering upgrading to Gold and wondering if I have to do this by a certain time and also what happens to the pictures that were previously in my Disney PhotoPass account ?

Hi, Jacquelyn, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It’s always a pleasure to meet another Florida gal!

My family currently has a mix of Florida Resident Gold and Silver Annual Passes. We upgraded one pass a couple of years ago to take advantage of the free Disney PhotoPass photo downloads. We love having all of our Walt Disney World photos to keep forever!

Going Gold is really easy, especially since you're in the renewal period for your current pass, which begins 60 days before your expiration date and ends 30 days after. Just go into your My Disney Experience account to begin the renewal process and choose your new Annual Pass level, and you’re done. Told you it was easy!

Any picture-perfect Disney PhotoPass photos that are associated with your My Disney Experience account should still be there. If you have any trouble accessing them, go ahead and give Guest Relations a quick call.

Jacquelyn, once you’ve upgraded, it’s time to put that shiny new Gold Annual Pass to use! You can schedule FastPass+ attractions up to 30 days in advance, or plan a Walt Disney World Resort hotel stay and make those FastPass+ selections up to 60 days out. Sounds like a great reason for a weekend getaway!

I hope this helps you enjoy many more Disney days to come, Jacquelyn! Please come see us again if you have any more questions!

    Keep Disney Dreaming,

    Kathy K.

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
