In 4 days, what is a good number of the parks to visit with a 6-year-old? Would 1 be sufficient or could we do 2 in that time?

    Hi Mysti,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I see you are also from the Show-Me state and I am quite honored you asked me a question!

Whenever I vacation in Walt Disney World with young children, I usually allot the following amount of time for the below listed theme parks:

    • Magic Kingdom - 2 days
    • Epcot - 1-2 days
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios - 1 day
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom - 1 day

My top recommendation is to include Magic Kingdom as your first stop.  Most people envision the iconic Cinderella Castle with Wishes Nighttime Spectacular exploding behind it whenever they think about the Walt Disney World Resort.  I always plan at least 2 days in Magic Kingdom for my family's vacations.  For your other 2 days, let your child's interests be your guide.  If your child is into nature and animals then Disney's Animal Kingdom park would be a good choice.  If your child loves cinematic blockbusters like Star Wars or Toy Story, then Disney's Hollywood Studios is sure to thrill them.  If your child is creative, loves technology, and visiting other cultures then Epcot will bring that to life for them.

Mysti besides reading through the previously asked questions and answers here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel site, you might also enjoy a site called Touring Plans.  This is an unofficial site that requires a small paid subscription to view a variety of plans and predicted crowd calendars to help you tour each theme park.  There are plans for everybody - from families with small children to thrill-seeking adults.  My method for vacation planning is to over-prepare with planning, but then to relax and go with the flow when actually on vacation.

Thank you again for your question!  Please let me know if you have any further questions, I am always happy to help!

    Blessings,
    Brenda ºOº
