24 days! On DDP and booked CP, CM, Cape May, Mickey's BBQ and Luau. Are 2 dinner shows too much? Visiting for 5 days with my 3 year old son and my mom & need a mix of action & relaxation to keep both happy. Are all these good choices? Thanks!

Hi Amanda! Wow only 24 days until a magical vacation...it is so much fun to countdown to the big day.

You have chosen some great spots for dining during your trip but it might be a bit much trying to keep that schedule and you don't want your three year old to get so used to seeing a character that by the time they leave they don't even care anymore.

Crystal Palace is a great place to find all the Pooh characters and I prefer this spot for breakfast before the park opens. It is a fun way to start a day in the Magic Kingdom. I also prefer Chef Mickey for breakfast as I love the buffet at that time of day over the dinner options. But no matter what time you have a reservation for I do feel this is the best character dining on property as you will see all the major Disney characters.

If Cape May is close by and easy to get to from your resort and you have this booked as a character breakfast then this is one you could forgo for the other ones. The dinner buffet is nice as it is more of a clam bake type menu.

Mickey's Backyard Barbecue is definitely fun and different and you will enjoy just the chance to get to Fort Wilderness. Your son will have the chance to dance with characters and watch some good old fashioned cowboy entertainment such as roping! Food is ok and nothing special but it is the atmosphere that you book this for.

Of all the dinner shows on property the Luau is my least favorite. It is a bit cheesy and if you were to cancel a dinner show I would cancel this one. Food is nothing special and tables are often not close enough to really enjoy the show.

Make sure you are not spending too much time trying to get to your dining instead of having fun in the parks!
