18 days and counting. We are driving for the first time this year. My girls are 10 and 11. We are leaving in the middle of the day. Does anyone have any great mom advice on keeping the girls entertained. We have the basics DvD players, game boys, Ipod

We have taken many road trips.

Play the license plate game. Watch for plates (commercial trucks do not count) and collect as many of the 50 states as possible. Print out a map of the U.S. and have the girls color in each state that you find.

    Disney music.

Scavenger hunt. I actually bought a card game but you could make your own. Make cards such as Find a purple car, Find a cow, Find a dog riding in a car. Deal 5 cars to each person. The first one to find all of their items wins.

    Mad Libs. Great laughs.

My son likes to follow along on the map so when he was younger I made a binder filled with maps of our route. I placed velcro by each major city and state border and then numbered them. I made a little car and put velcro on the back of it. Then I would tell him "move your car to #4" for example, and he could see where we were, how far we had gone and how much longer we had to drive.

Print out an info on each state that you will drive through. When you enter the state, read the info. You could also plan activities such as have a glass of orange juice when you reach Florida (it's free at the Welcome Center).

    Books on CD.

    Homework.

    Pictionary.

    Drawing contests.

    Travel journals.

I've found that wrapping up a small "gift" for milestones such as passing the next city helps pass the time. Activities such as a Rubik's cube, coloring book or small toy works wonders!

Look over WDW park maps and talk about your Must See attractions.

    Joke books.

    I Spy.

    Twenty Questions.

Make up a game to get to know each other better. Everyone can write down questions Put in a paper bag and pull them out. If you weren't going to WDW where would you like to visit? Who is your fave Disney character?

When all else fails, stop for an ice cream!
