If you only have 4 days to make it the best trip ever for a child under 5, what would you recommend as the top ten things to do.We will have park hoppers. How would you rank the parades since they are all at the the same time and we will probably only see 2

    Christina:

    1. Book a Character Meal. Chef Mickey's tops my own 5-year-old's list. Akershus' Princess Dining if you have a girl.
    2. Stay up for the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. You've never seen fireworks until you've experienced those at Disney in the park, complete with choreographed music. Our family likes to STAND in the traffic circle right as you leave the shops of Main Street headed for the castle.
    3. Take a spin on the monorail. It costs nothing and still thrills even my husband!
    4. Don't miss the parades. My favorite is the Electric Light Parade at MK at night, afterall, what town has a parade at night?  Second favorite: the afternoon parade at Disney's Hollywood Studios where Pixar characters shine, like Buzz Lightyear.
    5. Ride the roller coasters. Your child should be just tall enough for Animal Kingdom's Expedition Everest. And it's best ridden at night during its Evening Magic Hours.
    6. Eat a Mickey Ice Cream Bar. Children remember small things like getting to buy candy and snacks.
    7. Swim in your resort's pool. It drives me nuts when my kids tell me they want to swim on vacation, but the resort pools are well-themed and create their own special memories.
    8. Drink up at Club Cool. Our family loves trying the different flavored soft drinks in Epcot. There's something cool to a kid who gets to have as much soda as he wants!
    9. Slow down. My 5-year-old spent 20 minutes using a broom and water to draw on the sidewalk at DHS. We'd have missed it if we were in a hurry. He also loved the shuffleboard game at the end of Spaceship Earth. Disney has many interaction activities that you'd find at a children's museum built in throughout the parks.
    10. Visit LegoLand at Downtown Disney and top off the trip with its family-size sundae at Ghirardelli!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
