Hello! Considering a 7 day Western Caribbean cruise in early Aug. Our 1st cruise. Can someone help with our questions: 1. How are the ocean conditions in August... choppy, smooth, etc. Kids get motion sickness 2. Picky kids... can we see the menu? :-)

Welcome aboard, Ruben! Only just over a month until your family sets sail with Disney Cruise Line!

Most likely, your family will be in for smooth sailing in August. Honestly, most of the time we've sailed, no matter what time of year, we've found great sea conditions. Of course, if a storm is coming through, the sea may be a bit choppy for a bit, but I am sure you'll have a wonderful cruise, as I wouldn't anticipate a rough sea at that time. If your family members do suffer from motion sickness, it wouldn't be a bad idea to chat with your doctors before you set sail to see what they recommend you bring just in case. There are patches and bands to help with motion sickness, and you'll see some cruisers wearing those as a preventative measure, but your doctor knows you best, so get his or her advice first.

Don't worry about your kids being picky eaters. Many cruisers, my family included, have found that their kiddos eat better than ever on the ships as there are so many great options. You can see examples of the adult menus posted on Disney Cruise Line's website, when you view each restaurant. However, I don't believe they list the kids' options online. You can do a quick Google search for Disney Fantasy Kids Menus and you'll see some guests who have posted examples of the kids menus from their particular sailings with Disney. Though menus are always subject to change, at least that will give you a nice idea of what is offered. You'll always find the popular kids' fare like chicken fingers, burgers, and mac n' cheese, but there are also some more adventurous choices available, and we like our kids to try something new when we sail. The nice thing is, if they don't like it, it doesn't cost you any more to order something different! So, encourage them to try a few new choices and who knows? You might just find your child loves a new food!

    Have fun planning, Ruben!
