We will have 1 day at Epcot during the Food and Wine Festival. We have ADR at Akershus for a late dinner, but would love some recommendations for counter service lunch and snacks! We have the dining plan, will some special foods be on the plan?

    Hi Judye,

Akershus is a really a fun restaurant.  You'll enjoy meeting all of the princesses.  It's just my opinion, but I will say don't order the Traditional Kjottkake.  It sounds exotic and the description is enticing, but it's just a big meatball on potatoes.  There are better options on the menu.

During the International Food and Wine Festival, there are kiosks set up throughout World Showcase representing cuisine from around the world.  At each kiosk you can purchase food & drink; a sampling of food can be purchased using snack credits.  My advice is to plan on using your snack credits for lunch on this day, maybe use two or three from your entire trip.  I always find we have extra left at the end of our vacation, and this is a perfect way to use them up.  When you arrive at the gate, you can pick up a program that will list foods available at each kiosk.

If you would rather not do that, I recommend dining at either Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pavilion, Tangierine Cafe in Morocco, or La Cantina de San Angel in Mexico.  School Bread in Norway is a favorite snack of many Disney guests.  I recommend it, but I would pay out of pocket for it.  It's relatively inexpensive as far as snacks go.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation!
