Hi my daughters 5th birthday is on the 8th of December.  We don’t have a lot of money and this will be our first time at the Magic Kingdom, any suggestions on making her day the best it can be? On a super tight budget?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ivy!

The Walt Disney World Resort is my favorite place to celebrate a special occasion, and I am happy to share some tips for a budget celebration at Magic Kingdom Park. It may help to familiarize yourself with the many attraction and entertainment options before you visit. You can view height requirements for the rides, as well as select FastPass+ attractions you think your daughter will enjoy most on her special day. I recommend that all Guests secure FastPass+ attractions as soon as possible.

I also like to arrange a special dining experience each time my family and I celebrate a special occasion. My favorite is lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant. It is such a treat to dine inside of the Beast's Enchanted Castle. Make sure to try the Grey Stuff - it's delicious!

Many families like to collect autographs from favorite Disney Characters, and some get really creative with handmade autograph books, pillowcases, and more. Since this is your daughter's birthday celebration, it could be fun to bring along a blank birthday card for characters to sign. This could be a great souvenir for your daughter to look back on when she's older.

The nighttime parade and fireworks displays are made even more magical with the addition of glow sticks and glow jewelry. Purchase these from your favorite retailer before you visit, and then pop them out of your bag in the evening for a colorful surprise.

Finally, make sure to pick up a complimentary 'Happy Birthday!' button from Guest Relations when you arrive at Magic Kingdom Park. Your princess can wear her button with pride as she explores the most magical place on Earth.

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Walt Disney World vacation, Ivy!
