My daughters 5th bday is 5/1/2020 and I’ve been waiting to take her to Disney to celebrate it there. I’d like to stay at a Disney resort too but trying to find the best one suited for her. She loves Mickey/Minnie and is a girly girl, any recommendations?

    Stephanie,

Whenever my wife and I plan a vacation to Walt Disney World with our daughters we like to have a resort in mind for each of the different price ranges; Deluxe, Moderate, and Value. That way when our Disney Authorized Vacation Planner returns with some quotes we can decide what is in our budget. Sometimes we find that a bump up in classes may only cost a few dollars more, and may well be worth it for that trip.

Below are my official, daughter-approved choices. Abby and Annie, who are now 12 and 14, love all the Disney resorts. But based on their experiences at that same age of 5, and your description of your daughter, these are the ones I think are your best bets.So why did I choose these? Grand Floridian definitely is ideal for the "girly girl". The ambiance will make her know she is the princess at the ball. I chose Port Orleans - Riverside for their amazing Royal Guest Rooms. They are slightly more expensive than the standard rooms at this resort, but they are themed to the world of princesses and would not disappoint. Finally, for the Value class I recommended Pop Century. That would be a close tie with the Little Mermaid rooms at Disney's Art of Animation Resort. But I feel that the decor in Pop Century channels anyone's inner Mickey, or Minnie Mouse.
