My daughter (12 yrs ) would often prefer to order off the kids menu but is too old. I would love to know I can get her adult portion sizes of kids menu items (at adult prices of course). Do you know if they will do this???

Throughout the years, I’ve seen many adults and teens order off the kid’s menu. Most restaurants are very good about allowing guests to order what they really want to eat. Most servers really want the guests to be happy and enjoy their meal.

If your daughter wants the child portion, you should be charged the child price. You can also ask for an adult portion of the kid entrée, then you’ll be charged a bit more for your meal. It’s often about double the price. So if the kid’s hamburger, for example, sounds good to your child then go ahead and order it.
Don’t forget that sometimes the appetizer menu has kid-friendly offerings too. Order an appetizer as an entrée if something in that section of the menu appeals to your daughter.

If your server is not helpful, I would ask to speak to a manager. Your family should enjoy your meal and not feel obligated to order specific items. Using the dining plan will cause more restrictions however, so you should always inquire with your server if substitutions are allowed.

I’m a picky eater and I almost always order off the kid’s menu at the counter-service restaurants.
