Hi, my daughter will be visiting Disney with her school and I was wondering what is the best form for spending money at the resort, parks, and restaurants?

Hi there, Jennifer! We are having this conversation at my house right now, as we just reserved my daughter's spot for her senior class trip to Walt Disney World.

Our first thought was to send her with a Disney Gift Card. The cards can be loaded with up to $1000, so this should more than cover what your daughter might need on one card. They are accepted at just about every place at Walt Disney World, including non-Disney owned shops and restaurants, with few exceptions. The downside to the card is that you can't reload them online, so if you purchase the card for a certain amount, and she goes over, you aren't going to be able to reload it from home.

In that case, you can also give her a bit of cash, which she may need to grab a snack or drink at the airport while she's waiting for her flight. I couldn't think of anything else my daughter would need cash for, but it's probably a good idea for them to have some money on them to grab a Starbucks or a magazine to read on the plane on the way back (my daughter will just be sleeping, I'm sure).

If you have a Chase checking account (or if you set one up), you can get a Disney Visa debit card. With this card, she'll even get 10% discount on some of her purchases throughout Walt Disney World.

I think we are going to send our daughter with a prepaid Visa card, from our local bank. They are reloadable online to add more money if she needs it.

    Wishing her a magical vacation!
