My daughter has Type 1 Diabetes. Are we allowed to bring in our own water and food into the parks? What is the policy on coolers? She does use insulin, so we will need to keep that cold.

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for stopping by with your question about your upcoming vacation!

You are allowed to bring your own food and water into the parks, just make sure to not put them into glass containers. Coolers with or without wheels larger than 24" x 15" wide x 18" high are not allowed in any theme park or water park. Also, loose or dry ice is not permitted in these containers or in any bag. If you would like to keep your water, food or your daughter's insulin cold, you may bring reusable ice-packs. Keep in mind as well that cups of ice are available at no charge at Food & Beverage locations. Here is detailed information about the updated rules and policies.

Valentina, remember that your daughter's condition may make eligible to obtain a DAS (Disability Access Service) Card. The DAS card is a tool designed to accommodate guests who aren’t able to wait in a conventional queue environment due to a disability or medical condition. It offers guests a return time for attractions based on the current wait time. As soon as your daughter and her party finish one attraction, you will all be eligible to receive a return time for another one. The best thing is that this service can be used in addition to the FastPass+ service.

Valentina, you and your child will need to collect this pass at one of the main four theme park Guest Relations offices, Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom. I suggest you collect it as soon as you get to the first theme park you visit. Once you are inside the Guest Relations office, request to speak to a Cast Member so they can determine your daughter's eligibility and make sure they provide her with a service that fully meets her needs.

I am sure you and your daughter will have a wonderful time while at Disney! I wish you both a memorable trip!

Meet the Panelist: Desiree, Peru

Hi! I'm Desiree from Lima, Peru. My family will never ever tire of visiting the Most Magical Place on Earth, even if means traveling almost 3,000 miles to do so! My husband and I love to watch the fireworks with our kids, but the best magic happens when the grandparents come along and we all feel the same age in front of Cinderella Castle! I love giving tips about different types of resorts and traveling with multigenerational groups.
