My daughter turns 4yrs on the day we depart in August, do we need to order a cake for her or will they give a complimentary cupcake or cake? Can they serve ice cream cake?

    Ahoy, Elizabeth!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks for logging in a question. You've got one lucky princess spending her birthday onboard the Disney Cruise Ship -- what an awesome celebration this will be!

When you complete your OnLine Check-in, make sure that you have it noted on your cruise reservation that you are celebrating a Birthday. Your wonderful dining team will see that note and they'll be able to get that special birthday surprise at dinner time for your table. There are no ice cream cakes right now - but it's usually a yummy birthday cake that gets taken out to your table after your dinner. It'll be around dessert... but you are welcome to order any additional desserts from the menu. There is always ice cream on the menu if your princess would like to enjoy some along with her birthday cake. She'll even gets a special birthday song. You are absolutely not charged anything additional for this. In fact, the crew loves birthday celebrations -- you'll likely hear other guests celebrating in the dining room.

If you are interested, additional special touches can be ordered for an additional cost in the Gifts & Amenities site online. Also, don't forget to pickup a free birthday button from the Guest Services desk once you get onboard. Your little princess will feel even more special when she hears more people greet her happy birthday.

Wishing you and your family a spectacular birthday cruise, Elizabeth!
