    Rebecca from SC Asked

My daughter is 10 and suffers from Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis. She does not need or want to use a wheelchair or scooter. Would she qualify for the DAS pass?

    Hi Rebecca,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thank you for bringing this question to us!

The Disability Access Service may be an appropriate accommodation for your daughter. This service is helpful for those who cannot tolerate the standard attraction line. When you arrive to your first theme park, stop by Guest Relations and speak to a cast member. He or she will ask a few questions to determine how best to meet your daughter's needs during your Walt Disney World vacation.

When my husband has used the Disability Access Service in the past, we have registered with Guest Relations. Then, one of us will approach a cast member at the entrance to a ride or attraction, explain that a member of our party has the Disability Access Service, then request a return time for the ride. The happy news is that we have been able to use the service in addition to Fast Pass+.

Rebecca, although your daughter does not want or need a scooter, you may still want to be aware of all Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities including Wheelchair and ECV rentals. We do A LOT of walking and even though my husband may not want a wheelchair or electric conveyance vehicle (ECV), he has rented one on two occasions - at Disney's Animal Kingdom and Epcot. Just keep it in mind!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
