My daughter is 12 and she wants to do bibbidi Bobbity boutique. She also happens to be a bit of a fashionista with a side shave hairstyle. Can she opt out of getting her hair styled and just do dress, nails and makeup? Or does she have to do it all or none?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Heidi!

Let’s hEAR it for your fashionista, knows-her-style, fierce princess. I love that she wants the royal treatment at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, but also wants to be true to her style and authenticity. That’s the kind of modern princess the world needs!

The Fairy-Godmothers-in-Training at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique want your princess to have a magical experience, and that means doing what works for her. Just as Cinderella’s Fairy Godmother used Cinderella’s own special traits and treasures to create her dream look for the ball, the Fairy-Godmothers-in-Training will work with your daughter’s vision to create something beautiful. If your daughter is open to it, they should be able to work with her side shave hairstyle (I’ve seen them add twists, braids, glitter, and hair accessories), but if your daughter prefers to leave her hair as-is, that’s absolutely fine. Just note that hairstyling is included in the package price, so you’ll likely still pay for the styling even if your daughter doesn’t take advantage of it.

While you can now check availability and book appointments online, you may want to call (407) WDW-STYLE to make your daughter’s appointment and to ask about packages without hairstyling. There are currently two locations for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique; one is at Magic Kingdom Park in Cinderella Castle, and the other in Disney Springs. Keep in mind when reserving that you must have valid theme park admission for the Magic Kingdom Park location.

A new Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique location in Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will open August 6, 2019, and is already accepting reservations. My tween daughter and I had a truly lovely afternoon tea at the resort’s Garden View Tea Room, and this could be a wonderful way to celebrate your daughter’s regal transformation. We talk about it all the time and are planning to return later this year because we loved our tea that much!

Heidi, I hope your daughter feels like a princess during her visit to the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique! It’s truly one of those storybook experiences, and I hope you both have so much fun with her makeover moment.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
