My daughter has a severe peanut allergy and can't have items from facilities (bakerys, etc.) that also utilize peanuts. Are there any treat spots in Magic Kingdom that are "peanut safe"?

    Hi Elizabeth!

As a mom to a child who has multiple food allergies, I completely understand the challenge of finding safe treats away from home. Our family has had fantastic experiences with our son where Cast Members and chefs have accommodated his food needs and done everything possible to make him feel included and special. I have found that quick service restaurants, food carts and stands have much more limited capacity for safe foods for our son than table service dining. Here are some tips for finding safe treats:
    • Speak up about foods you need to avoid: Always speak to the Cast Member or chef at the location where you want to eat to notify them of the foods allergy. You can get a list of ingredients for everything they serve. Even the food carts and stands will have ingredients lists. Then you can determine what at that location is safe for your daughter to eat.
    • Be on the lookout for safe brands: I have found some safe brands of snacks and treats located at many of the parks. I have found Enjoy Life cookies at Epcot and I have heard that Divvie's products have been found in the past at Main Street Bakery at Magic Kingdom. Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC, the maker of BabyCakes, is back in Downtown Disney and they have products that are safe for many food allergies. Check their website for ingredients.
    • Bring safe treats with you: I try to bring with us some special treats that we can use for situations where I can't find anything safe. Things like fruit snacks, lollipops, or homemade safe cookies will go a long way as they are extra special and just for him. These can't compare to picking something out from a bakery, but they are better than nothing.

Finally, I like to use the Disney section at ‚Äčto get an idea of locations that may be safe for our family. Please let me know if you have any other questions as you get ready for your trip!
