My daughter has sensory processing disorder and Disney can definitely be overstimulating, and waiting in long lines can be overwhelming. Any suggestions as to the best way to tackle all things Disney but keep it a good experience for her?

    Hi Julie!

Thanks so much for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this question! I completely understand how important it is to plan ahead when going on vacation with a Mouseketeer who has special needs. Spending a day at Magic Kingdom Park can be quite the sensory experience for kiddos like ours. I'm thrilled to share some ideas that have made my son's Disney vacations stress-free and fun!

If you have a moment before your upcoming vacation, take a look at the Resource for Guests with Cognitive Disabilities. This informative guide will give you tons of wonderful information to help make your daughter's vacation enjoyable! One thing that is mentioned in this resource is finding a quiet location in each theme park if your daughter needs a break from the action and fun. We like to visit the First Aid stations for a quiet place for my son to relax and regroup! Also, pages 21 - 38 give an amazing sensory checklist for most of the attractions found throughout each theme park. If you know your little one would not enjoy getting wet, loud noises or flashing lights, you can find all the attractions on this list that do not have those elements in them.

Have you heard of the Disability Access Service Card (DAS Card)? This card will give Guests with disabilities a return time for attractions based on the current wait time! The DAS Card can be used in addition to Disney's FastPass+ Service, too. You can receive a DAS Card at Guest Relations main entrance locations in each of the four theme parks.

Julie, I'm wishing you and your daughter an unforgettable vacation!
