My daughter - 7, recently had surgery on her leg - she is able to walk but I fear the "long Disney days" and amount of walking and standing in line may cause her pain. What are our best options to help keep her comfortable but still enjoy the at

Hi, Stephanie!  I think your best bet would be to rent a wheelchair for your daughter, so that she has a place to sit and rest when she needs to.  The walking around the theme parks can be quite extensive, and someone who has recently had surgery might feel worn out way before she's gotten to enjoy all the things she is hoping to see!

Another thing you can do is visit guest services when you get to the theme park to obtain a Guest Assistance Card.  This card, when shown to the cast members at a ride or attraction, will allow you to avoid having to wait in long lines by providing you entrance through a Fast Pass line or alternate entrance; or they can sometimes provide you with an area where you can sit and wait for the doors to open at an attraction.

The information you will need regarding wheelchair rental at the theme parks is located HERE.  Another option might be stroller rental, but that would really depend on how comfortable your daughter would be in a stroller.  The strollers at Walt Disney World are quite good sized, but I know my daughter wouldn't want to ride in one.  She'd feel much more grown up using a wheelchair.

I hope your vacation is magical, and I hope your daughter continues to heal and feels better for your upcoming vacation!
